The job advert starts well by mentioning that ideas are encouraged and that career growth is supported, but it stops before making those benefits the main part of the job advert. Also, whilst it is important to have an outline of the role and the responsibilities involved, you must also showcase the real benefits of the job to the candidate. The best performing candidates are focused on what’s in it for them together with results, not just a list of their responsibilities. High performers want to see how their work is going to impact themselves and the business in equal measure. They are looking for a story that speaks to them.
Start by writing out what you think are the big benefits of working at Ampcontrol, and make it specific to you.
For example, assume this person was working with you directly:
“Working with Steven Edmund, our Managing Director, you’ll learn skills that can’t be taught on a course. You’ll learn skills that can only be taught through practical application and years of experience.”
